I write love notes everyday to Love Letter Club members, and hadn’t thought to write one to myself until this #Reverb14 prompt came through (via Amy Taylor-Kabbaz.):
It all starts with kindness. Everything I have learnt, everyone I have interviewed, every word I have studied has guided me to this simple but profound conclusion: true happiness begins and ends with self-kindness.
No more guilt. No more shoulds. No more comparison.
And the very best way to give your weary soul some kindness at the end of this year? A love note.
Write a letter from you to you… filled with forgiveness, love, and a big bear hug.-

Dear K,
Can I tell you what I see? Can I be honest for a second? You, my dear, had one of the most amazing years yet and you probably don’t even know it. This is why I am writing this letter, though, to remind you. You followed your heart each and every day and took a step towards your dreams. You are living the dream. You are the dream. You got to Texas. You kept going. You had nights where you cried, but you woke up each morning embracing the new morning. You kept going. Do you know how amazing that is. You kept smiling, kept stepping, kept laughing, kept loving.
You did enough. In fact, you did more than enough. Every thing that was supposed to happen did. Every failure, every mistake, every misstep, every detour was part of your journey. It is your story.
Know what I want you to do for the next few weeks before the new year starts? Relax. Relax into what the past 11 months have brought. Relax into your body. Relax into your desires. Most of all relax into love (and take lots of naps, too).
I love you to the moon and back again.
